We’re seeking a pragmatic, data-disciplined Senior Backend Developer to design and implement a mission-critical event tracking system for a web application with significant user traffic. The result will directly impact the client’s ability to understand user behavior, measure business metrics, and deliver data-driven experiences across their platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a mission-critical event tracking system for a web application with significant user traffic. The result will directly impact the client’s ability to understand user behavior, measure business metrics, and deliver data-driven experiences across their platform.
- Responsible for architecting and developing a scalable event collection infrastructure that captures user interactions across various frontend and backend services, with data ultimately flowing into a data warehouse for analysis.
- Translate business requirements into reliable data systems that deliver measurable value.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js
- Experience with Kafka or similar message queue technologies
- Strong understanding of API design and implementation
- Experience building SDKs or libraries consumed by other developers
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts with exposure to Snowflake or similar systems
- Experience with high-volume data processing
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience with data modeling and schema design
- Experience implementing authentication and security best practices
- Excellent command of the English language both written and oral.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience building analytics or event tracking systems
- Understanding of frontend frameworks (React, Angular) for SDK integration purposes
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools
